Planning a group visit? We’re delighted to welcome groups of all sizes to the Old Royal Naval College. From guided tours and self-led visits to bespoke experiences, we offer a range of options to suit different interests, timings and budgets. Whether you’re organising a day out for a community group, society, or travel company, our team is here to help you create a memorable experience.
Whether your group is here for just a one-hour tour, a full day itinerary or somewhere in between, we can plan a programme just for you. We recommend that you allow a minimum of 1.5–2 hours for your visit.

Painted Hall – Audio guide available in seven languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin and British Sign Language), or the option to book a private tour for your group. Groups can pay a premium to book exclusive group access before 10am or after 5pm.

Visitor Centre – On a private tour, our expert guides will highlight some of the key artefacts, intriguing objects, and historical costumes that delve into 2,000 years of history connected to this remarkable location.

Skittle Alley – Your group can try their hand at our Victorian bowling. Open daily from 12-3pm, different times available by appointment only for groups.

Nelson Room – A visit to the magnificent Painted Hall would not be complete without exploring the fascinating story of Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson’s lying-in-state in the Nelson Room.

Chapel of St Peter & St Paul – Enjoy one of the finest neo-classical interiors in existence.

Choice of Tours and Bespoke Offerings
Groups are welcome to join our daily schedule of public tours, including our 600 Years of History Tour or our Film location tour Wigs, Wedding, Powder and Palaces, as well as Painted Hall Talks. Access to tours is subject to availability.
We recommend that groups book a private tour with one of our award-winning expert guides, at a time of the group’s choosing to guarantee availability. These are priced at £5 per person based on a minimum of 10 people.
Private tours benefit from the option of including whispering guide technology to ensure that all guests can hear clearly.

Gin Tasting
Learn about the story of Greenwich Gin and its connection to maritime exploration. Sample various award-winning gins as you’re guided through a range of botanicals and flavour profiles. Available on Fridays and Saturdays only.

Christmas Concerts
Enjoy a festive concert in the Chapel delivered by the award-winning Trinity Laban Choir, with a chance to join in and sign along to some of your favourites. Visit includes entry to the Painted Hall and the Visitor Centre.

We welcome international student group visits, either as optional excursions or as part of a programme. Let us know of any language request at the time of booking as our guides can speak many languages. Moreover, our audio guide for the Painted Hall is also available in 7 languages.

Coach Operators
We are the only tourist attraction in Maritime Greenwich that has coach parking on-site.
Alongside booking your tickets, please pre-book your coach parking by completing the online coach booking form.
