Outdoor Summer Screen

This Summer the Old Royal Naval College grounds will be showing the best in sporting talent and family-friendly films on our outdoor screen. We’ll be serving up Wimbledon legends through July, followed by a week of outdoor cinema screenings, and ending with the Olympics.

Get ready to soak up the scenes of Canary Wharf, the River Thames all whilst lounging in the iconic architecture of the Old Royal Naval College. We’ll have seating in front of the screen for big sports fans, and smaller tables for foodies who want to make the most of the food and drink on offer – it’s going to be a Summer you won’t forget!

Please note that bringing external alcohol onto the site is strictly prohibited.

Our fabulous partners from Karnival Food will be featuring some of the best street food London has to offer, alongside an al fresco bar and gelato giants – Hackney Gelato. Plus our grounds are dog friendly.

Q1: What is the Old Royal Naval College?

The Old Royal Naval College is a historic site in Greenwich, London. Q2: Do I need to book?

The summer screen is free of charge. Our grounds are open daily from 8am-11pm.

Q3: What happens if it rains?

The screenings will still go ahead in the event of rain. In the event of very severe or extreme weather conditions, the screenings will likely be cancelled, and appropriate messaging distributed.

Q4: Are the events accessible?

The screenings all take place on level ground on our lawns which has level access from the main road. For more information visit our website.

Q5: When can I arrive?

Our grounds are open from 8am, the Visitor Centre and Painted Hall open at 10am. You are welcome to arrive from anytime.

Q6: Is seating provided?

There are a limited number of benches and deckchairs for visitor use. You are also welcome to bring a picnic mat or camping chair of your own.

Q7: Can I bring my dog?

We welcome dogs to our grounds. Please note that dogs are not permitted inside the buildings unless a service dog.

Q8: Can I bring a tent or gazebo?

We do not permit tents or gazebos on our grounds or at this event.

Q9: Is onsite parking available?

There is no parking onsite at the Old Royal Naval College. Please note that there is limited parking in Greenwich, particularly at weekends and we encourage you to use public transport where possible.

Q10: What facilities are available at the Old Royal Naval College?

There are toilets located outside The Old Brewery, and inside the King William building (free to use) and the Visitor Centre (for ticket holders, or if you show a receipt from the vendors, café or shop). Additional toilets will be available around the grounds. We have street food vendors and a bar van located in the area of the screen.

Q11: Can I bring my own food and drink?

There are food concessions onsite, you are welcome to bring your own food or a picnic. Please note that BBQs are not permitted. Please note that bringing external alcohol onto the site is strictly prohibited.
