Tours

We run talks throughout the day in the Painted Hall as well as daily tours that are all included in the price of your ticket; simply join a tour on the day.*

600 Years of History

Find out more about the history and architecture of the site. The tour covers a period starting from its early years as a Tudor Palace where King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I were born; to its time as the Royal Hospital for Seamen; to the masterpiece you see today built by Sir Christopher Wren.

Painted Hall Talks

A cast of over 200 fascinating characters is assembled on the ceiling and walls of the Painted Hall. Join one of our experts for a 30-minute talk explaining the history and stories behind the painting.

Talks run regularly between 11am and 4pm.

Gather at the meeting point in the Painted Hall vestibule to join the next talk, included in your ticket.

Accessible Tours

We run BSL tours regularly throughout the year.

We also run Audio Described tours which are available for blind and partially-sighted visitors. These tours are led by staff and volunteers who have been trained in audio description by Vocaleyes.
