Join us every Sunday for a range of family-friendly activities. From storytelling to creative-making sessions, messy play for the little ones and actors dressed in costume, there is something for everyone each week. Keep scrolling to find out what’s coming soon!
First Sunday Storytelling
Join us on the First Sunday of each month and enjoy a reduced £5 adult entry of the Painted Hall. In addition to this, take part in an engaging and interactive storytelling session inspired by the amazing artwork in the stunning Painted Hall.
Times: Morning (11.30am – 12pm) and afternoon (1.30pm – 2pm) sessions.
Suggested age: 5-10 years old
Location: Painted Hall
Price: Children go free. Parents will need to purchase a £5 Painted Hall entry ticket or use their annual pass. Advance booking is required.
Upcoming performances
- 2 June – Royal Nursery Rhymes. Discover the names and stories behind some of the royal faces featured in the Painted Hall.
- 7 July – Labours of Hercules (Part 1). Find out about the adventures of Hercules and his battle with the Nymean Lion and the Hydra.
Make History
Come and take part in creative making sessions on the second Sunday of each month. Learn about the stories behind our buildings here at the Old Royal Naval College and use a range of materials to make your own creations to take home.
Times: 11am – 4pm
Suggested age: 5+

- 12 May – Chocolate House Creations. Join us for a Chocolate House inspired craft session and get the chance to make your own Chocolate House Trade Card.
- 9 June – Serene Ocean Crafts. To celebrate World Ocean Day, dive in and create some underwater seascapes and take part in ocean-inspired activities.

Early Years Messy Play
Join us on the third Sunday of each month for a mix of sensory activities, sand and water play, construction, and creative fun for your little ones.
Times: Morning (10am – 11.30am) and afternoon (12.30pm – 2pm) sessions.
Suggested ages: 2-5 years old.
Location: The Clore at the Visitor Centre

Meet The Past
On the fourth Sunday of each month, come and meet someone from history. As you walk the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College, a different actor in costume will be there each month to regale you with stories of the past.
Times: 11am-1pm & 1.30-3.30pm
