GreenWitch takes over Royal Greenwich
Fri 15 Nov 24
The Old Royal Naval College is proud to be part of an enchanting new chapter for the Royal Borough of Greenwich, as it undergoes a magical transformation into ‘GreenWitch’ to celebrate the release of Universal Pictures’ highly anticipated film adaptation of Wicked.
We were delighted to host the launch of the two-week celebration, which kicked off on 12 November with Mayor Jit Ranabhat unveiling a special plaque to mark the Borough’s temporary new name.
With the festivities running until 24 November, visitors and locals alike can immerse themselves in the magic of GreenWitch by following a spellbinding walking trail. Starting from the Old Royal Naval College, the trail features captivating installations and themed decorations at iconic sites across the Borough. This is a unique chance to experience a playful twist on familiar locations, from GreenWitch Market to the top of King William Walk.
This partnership strengthens our ties with Visit Greenwich and supports our long-standing history as a popular filming destination while building momentum for next year’s celebration of 100 years of filming on the site.
