Join us for an evening of unforgettable film music in the stunning Chapel of St Peter & St Paul, in partnership with Docklands Sinfonia to celebrate 100 years of filming at the Old Royal Naval College,   

This 75-minute concert will feature some of the most recognisable and powerful film scores, performed live by a full orchestra. The programme includes music from Hollywood’s greatest movies, some of which were filmed on-site at the UK’s No. 1 heritage filming location.  

Expect epic compositions by legendary composers such as John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Stephen Schwartz and Howard Shore, with music from Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Carribean, Wicked, Gladiator and more.

About Docklands Sinfonia  

Docklands Sinfonia is a diverse, dynamic and versatile orchestra working with composers, producers and promoters across film, rock, pop, and classical music.  A major cultural force in Docklands and beyond, the orchestra brings high quality music to the area, staging ground-breaking concerts and creating a lasting legacy by inspiring generations of young people.  

Since its formation in 2009, Docklands Sinfonia has enjoyed incredible success with performances for Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace and with Grammy-award winner Imogen Heap at the Royal Albert Hall.   

The orchestra received standing ovations for its world premiere performances of Roy Budd’s score to the 1925 silent film, Phantom of the Opera at the Barbican and London Coliseum. It has appeared on BBC Radio 3 and BBC1 and performed the first-ever concerts in the Tower Bridge’s Bascule Chamber under the Thames.   

About the Chapel of St Peter & St Paul  

The concert takes place in the beautiful Chapel of St Peter & St Paul, part of Sir Christopher Wren’s original design for the Royal Hospital for Seamen at Greenwich.  After a devastating fire, the Chapel was rebuilt in 1779 by James ‘Athenian’ Stuart. With its richly decorated ceiling, naval themes, and exceptional altarpiece painted by ‘the Raphael of America’, Benjamin West, it is evident why the Chapel is now regarded as one of the finest neo-classical interiors in existence.
