This October Half Term, join us for a spot of spookiness!  

Grab a map and go hunting through our grounds for lost ghouls and discover ghost stories about dead Admirals and retired sailors that lived and haunt here. 

Each ghoul has a letter, which, when you put all together will form a secret word. Explore our grounds to solve this ghoulish puzzle and uncover stories of supernatural encounters linked to the Old Royal Naval College’s rich 600-year-old history.   

You can pick up your free outdoor trail map from the Visitor Centre. For this limited period, we are also offering free access to Skittle Alley so why not pop in for a free game of spook-ified skittles too? 

The trail is recommended for 7+ year old, but suitable for all ages (younger children may need a bit more help from their adults.) 

Please Note: 

• This is a self-led activity and does not require pre-booking. Trail sheets are available on a first come, first served basis.  

• Taking part in the trail and/or Skittle Alley activities does not include access to the Visitor Centre or Painted Hall. For ticketing information, please see our plan a visit page.

• The Painted Hall is closed from Monday 27 October to Thursday 30 October.
