2020 promises to be a big year for the Old Royal Naval College, with the return of unmissable events including Greenwich Music Time, year-round Film & TV Tours, the first Valentine’s Day Late and more.

Greenwich Music Time is returning to the beautiful Greenwich riverside with incredible headliners Lewis Capaldi, Grammy award-winning Lauryn Hill, pop superstars McFly, West End royalty John Barrowman and more.  The Old Royal Naval College is delighted to announce that concertgoers can add a discounted Painted Hall annual pass for only £9.50 to their GMT 2020 ticket.

Other amazing music offerings in 2020 include the transfer of So Frenchy So Chic, a festival of French music heading to Greenwich from Australia.

A Salon Evening – A Play for Five Voices and a Painted Hall with guest artists including Hugh Bonneville, Robert Bathurst and Jane Asher will raise money for the Greenwich Foundation for the Old Royal Naval College on Thursday 23rd January.

The new year will also see the return of visitor-favourite Nelson Tours, providing the chance to hear more about the life and death of Admiral Lord Nelson, who lay in state in the Painted Hall before his funeral after the Battle of Trafalgar.  The popular Film & TV tours will return to the Old Royal Naval College in 2020, allowing visitors to see where their favourites, such as The Crown, Les Misérables, Thor: The Dark World, and many more have been filmed.

The Old Royal Naval College is thrilled to announce its first Valentine’s Day Late in 2020.  A romantic evening awaits visitors, who are welcomed with a glass of free wine, before enjoying a Valentine’s Day-themed trail and a ballroom dance class in the magnificent Painted Hall.

The Old Royal Naval College summer festival series will kick off in May with a concert by renowned choir The Sixteen and welcomes back the Greenwich Book Festival in June for a literary treat.  The ever-popular Greenwich Fair returns for its 25th year as part of the Greenwich + Docklands International Festival in June.  This year’s fair will be packed with family-friendly, spectacular, and interactive outdoor art shows, including installations, circus and inter-generational shows.

2020 is a great year for sports from UEFA to the Olympics, and everyone is joining in the sporting action.  The Old Royal Naval College will see the finish line of London’s newest sporting challenge, Regatta London, this September as rowers, kayakers, paddleboarders and more race along the Thames to raise money for the environment.  The Big Half will finish at the Old Royal Naval College in March and the world-famous London Marathon will be passing through on their epic run in April.

The year promises to see a multitude of other exciting events from the return of Luna Cinema for their popular open-air cinema series in August, illustrator Nick Ellwood back in Greenwich for an exclusive exhibition of his work at Easter alongside kid-friendly activities, and acclaimed food critic and writer Jay Rayner descends into the Queen Mary Undercroft to host BBC Radio 4’s The Kitchen Cabinet for a ‘food on film’ special.
