BSL Tour: Christopher Wren
This British Sign Language talk will explore the life and work of polymath Sir Christopher Wren, architect of St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Greenwich Hospital (now called the Old Royal Naval College) and dozens of other parish churches and significant buildings across London.
This event includes:
- An introductory talk establishing the social and political environment in which Wren lived, exploring his difficult beginnings, how he became the most famed architect of his era and how his legacy continues today
- A guided tour of Wren Studio, an exhibition showcasing s a selection of works by students and researchers from the Architecture Department, School of Design, at the University of Greenwich.
- Walking tour of the Old Royal Naval College, exploring the architectural motifs and their connection to Wren
Please note: The content of this tour will be entirely delivered in British Sign Language by expert BSL tour guide Alan Murray. The tour will not be interpreted into spoken English.
The meeting point will be in the Visitor Centre at 10:50am.
