Covid-19 Updates

Fri 12 Jun 20

From Monday 15 June, access through the site via West and East Gate will be open from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, for those returning to work, school and travelling through the Borough. The site will not yet be open for the weekends.

We are extending the hours this will be open following positive feedback about access through the grounds. We do ask that you do not sit or socialise while on site. Thank you for your understanding.

Our team are preparing the necessary steps to keep the public and our staff safe. This includes managing the flow of people and keeping all safely distanced; installing informative signage and barriers; providing PPE to staff and volunteers working; and to secure our historic buildings and grounds from antisocial behaviour and damage.

The safety of the people and buildings in our grounds is our top priority. We ask the community to work with us to encourage everyone to be respectful of the safety measures we will have in place, so that we are able to continue working towards a full opening of our site.

We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors again and re-opening our buildings and grounds as a community space and visitor attraction through gradual & phased opening, in line with government and sector guidelines, over the months of June and July.

You can see current government guidelines here.

We’ll be sharing some of our heritage and stories of the site on our digital channels, so whilst our gates are shut, there is still access to the Old Royal Naval College.
