We offer a range of free workshops for school and community groups including ESOL and SEND groups

Take part in a facilitated session or contact us as a self-led group.

Digital Learning

We hope you enjoy these short films and downloadable resources which are for schools to make use of in class.

The workshop films and resources have been designed so that they can be used in one single session or alternatively built into lesson plans over a period of time to aid with retrieval practice.

Both digital workshops are produced for Key Stage 2, but please note that the films recorded for Myths and Masks may also be suitable as a story for Key Stage 1.

Myths and Masks

This KS2 session and accompanying resources links directly to both the study of Ancient Greeks in History and Myths and Legends in Literacy. It also links to writing-composition in English and skills practice in art and design.

Home Schooled Groups

We have currently suspended our home schooled group sessions. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss alternative options.

We welcome home educated groups for both self-led visits and our facilitated workshops. There are some considerations to be aware of when booking.

  • We can take a maximum of 20 children and 10 adults
  • The minimum number of pupils we can take for a workshop is 10
  • To guarantee a good learning experience for children, the maximum learning age range of the group can be no greater than 2 years, eg. Y3-4, Y4-5, Y5-6
  • There must be a nominated supervisor in attendance who is responsible for the group
  • Please advise us of any special educational needs of children in the group at the time of booking
  • For Health and Safety reasons only one wheelchair user can be in the Painted Hall at any one time

Black Sailors, Writers, and Entrepreneurs of 18c Greenwich

This active inclusion writing workshop highlights the history of black free and enslaved people in the 18th century. Learn about the complexities faced by black sailors, merchants, and writers as they passed through Greenwich. Explore themes of empire, trade, naval power, and monarchy as you consider the lives of the naval veterans who retired to this site after their service at sea.

Workshops take place in our Clore Learning Centre and include a tour of the Painted Hall. Activities are designed to help build creative confidence and activate the imagination using accessible creative writing tasks.

This offer is run by a professional educator-writer in partnership with our Community Outreach. It can be booked by school groups KS3+ as well as community groups of young people or adults. The day consists of morning and afternoon sessions with a 30 minute lunch break in between. Timings, depth of content, and skill levels can be adjusted per group.
